NEW DELHI: Infosys, a leading provider of IT services, stated on Thursday that Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw will step down from her position as an independent board director on March 22, 2023, at the conclusion of her current term.
On the suggestion of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Infosys board named D Sundaram as the company’s lead independent director, effective March 23, 2023, according to a statement.
In 2014, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw was appointed as an independent director to the Infosys board. In 2018, she was promoted to lead independent director.
She also served on the board’s Risk Management and ESG Committees and as chair of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and CSR Committee.
“We sincerely congratulate Kiran for having been such a vital member of the Infosys family, offering valuable insight and leadership to the board over the years,” Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani said.
We also congratulate Sundaram on being named as the lead independent director, and we look forward to his ongoing wisdom and unwavering support as Infosys continues its development and transformation path, Nilekani stated.
Since 2017, Sundaram has been on the Infosys board. According to the statement, he has been a key driver for the company to realise its future goal thanks to his knowledge and depth of experience in finance and strategy.
Sundaram is a member of the Risk Management Committee, the Cybersecurity Risk Sub-Committee, the Stakeholders Relationship Committee, the Nomination & Remuneration Committee, and the Audit Committee.
