Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet (RE-INVEST) 2024 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Addressing the event, PM Modi stated that the world views India as the best bet for the 21st century, and the country is laying the groundwork for long-term global leadership.

“We are not only aiming to reach the top but are also preparing to sustain that position for the next 1,000 years,” Modi emphasized, pointing to India’s vision of becoming the world’s third-largest economy and the significant strides made in the first 100 days of the government’s third term.

Key Highlights from PM Modi’s Address:

  • Solar City Development: Modi mentioned that the government is developing Ayodhya and 16 other cities as model solar cities, signaling a stronger push toward solar energy projects.
  • Mission 500 GW: The central theme of RE-INVEST 2024, Mission 500 GW, underscores India’s goal to expand renewable energy capacity to 500 GW by 2030. India is already the 4th largest country globally in installed renewable energy capacity.
