The project’s scope extends beyond BEL, involving active engagement with various Indian electronics and related sectors, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), serving as sub-vendors. The equipment manufactured by BEL aligns with the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) initiative, showcasing the company’s commitment to bolstering domestic manufacturing and technology.

The aerospace and defence electronics manufacturer highlighted the significance of this order, stating, “Received an order of Rs 2,118.57 Crore from Cochin Shipyard Limited for the supply of various equipment consisting of sensors, weapon equipment, fire control systems, and communication equipment for six Next Generation Missile Vessels (NGMV), a class of anti-surface warfare corvettes for the Indian Navy.”
