MOSCOW: Alexander Novak, deputy prime minister of Russia, stated on Tuesday that Russia should concentrate on increasing energy exports to ostensibly “friendly” nations, as Russian oil shipments to India increased 22-fold last year.

In 2022, energy income will make up 42% of Russia’s federal budget, according to Novak, who also claimed that the country’s energy sector remained viable despite the difficulties caused by Western sanctions.
