Covid’s JN.1 variant in the country

The emergence of the Covid JN.1 variant in India has prompted increased vigilance, with 21 cases detected across the country. This new strain, originating from the BA.2.86 lineage, has raised concerns globally, prompting health officials to closely monitor its impact in India.
