Renewable energy solutions provider Suzlon has secured India’s largest wind energy order of 1,166 MW from NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL). The order involves installing a total of 370 wind turbine generators (WTGs) of S144 model, each equipped with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The turbines will be installed across two projects for NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and one project for IndianOil NTPC Green Energy Pvt Ltd, both in Gujarat. Following the news, Suzlon shares were trading 5% higher at Rs. 78.05 apiece at 1:10 P.M IST.

Partnership Significance:

This collaboration marks the largest wind energy initiative by a PSU in Gujarat, further establishing the state’s leadership in renewable energy.

Project Impact:
Upon completion, this project will set a new benchmark for future wind energy initiatives and significantly contribute to India’s energy self-sufficiency, economic growth, and NGEL’s goal of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.
Scope of the Agreement:
As part of the agreement, Suzlon will be responsible for:
- Supplying wind turbines and associated equipment.
- Executing the project, including erection and commissioning in Gujarat.
- Providing operations and maintenance services post-commissioning.
