Danone proposes Sanjiv Mehta’s appointment as independent director

Sanjiv Mehta, who will leave from his position as CEO and MD of Hindustan Unilever (HUL) on June 26 of this year, has been suggested to be appointed as an independent director to the board of the multinational food and beverage corporation Danone.
According to a statement from Danone, the proposed appointment would complete the board’s renewal if it were approved at the company’s shareholders meeting on April 27.
The Danone board will thereafter welcome Mehta as of July 1, 2023.
